Packers Weekend

It's already been two weekends, but Jen, Addison, and I went to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin for the weekend of Nov. 21st-22nd to visit Addison's orphanage sister Ella and the rest of our Wisconsin 'Forever Family', Bill, Debbie, and big brother Ian.

We met Bill and Debbie way back when in the Chicago airport on our way to pick up our daughters, and we got a chance to meet Ella's big brother Ian when we got together in LaCrosse, WI, back in August.

Bill and Deb have really become good friends and it's been a lot of fun getting to know them. We should've known that we would become friends through this journey, remember a picture that is on the blog from when we were first in China - Jen and Deb shopping in a Chinese Market together? We don't just have our daughters and a trip to China in common with them!

It was nice not to have to spend time with them in a hotel, as we stayed with them in their beautiful home, and Bill was kind enough to take me to my first Packer game and Lambeau Field - it was Awesome, even if the Packers won! ;-) You'll notice in the pictures that I was brave enough to wear my Purple Farve jersey. By the way, I wasn't the only Farve - Purple jersey fan in our group. Two other's claimed that they had the same jersey, but weren't brave enough to actually wear it to Lambeau Field.

I took quite a bit of heat from our little group of tailgaters, but it was all in good fun! At the game it was a different story. I got quite a few Boooo's and quite a few people were verbally upset that I dared to wear such an awesome jersey! I only got one beer bottle thrown at me - hit me square in the back, it was plastic and it was empty, so it was well worth it! I'm not sure Bill appreciated it too much, having to sit next to me, but he did save me from getting beat up by the guy sitting next to us when we first sat down. The guy wasn't too excited about it, and said, "to hell if I'm sitting next to you all game," Bill stepped in and became the divider between us - Thanks Bill! When the people around us saw that I was cheering on the Pack, they were quick with hive five's and didn't seem to care much that I was wearing purple - even the nice fella that didn't want to sit next to me! I figured that I better cheer for the Pack, unless I didn't want to walk our of there on my own power! It was a blast, thanks again Bill! I hope that I'm invited back someday! I promise, I won't wear purple again - I just had too this time!

Ok, everyone but the 3 guys on the right and back that don't have green on were Packer's fans, can you tell! This is Bill's group of friends that he usually goes with. The one in back with his 49er's red coat on and the boy standing next to him 'claimed' that they too had Purple Farve jersey's! Yeah, right? However, the Packer's played the 49er's that weekend - so he must not really like the Pack and he lives in Wisconsin! The other two gentlemen are from South Dakota, and they are Vikings fans, or so they said they were!

The girls did great together even though it didn't seem that they remembered each other. They played pretty well together, and it was fun to see them interact. They have both changed quite a bit. It's nice that we are able to get them together. Bill, Deb, Ian, and Ella are planning on coming to Minnesota to be with us for the Chinese New Year in February - we can't wait!

Ella, just hanging around!

Lisa took this picture a while ago. I've been meaning to get this on the blog for some time. Lisa was in a school musical over the weekend that we went to Wisconsin, so she stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Fultz. We were sorry that we weren't able to see her in the musical, but Jen and I were both able to catch part of the dress rehearsal. She said she really enjoyed her weekend with Grandma and Grandpa, as they spoiled her rotten!
