Here are some pictures of Addison's first Birthday Party!  She got a couple of gifts in the mail and from her nearby family - mostly books, jewelry, and some dolls and other toys - she loved them all, but not as much as the paper they were wrapped in!!!

The rest of the pictures are from the past couple of weeks we've been at home as we are still adjusting to life with Addison, or better yet - she is adjusting to life with us.  It's amazing to see the transformations that have already taken place, and we've only had her for 1 month.  To think about all that has changed for her in the little time that she has been on this earth truly boggles my mind.

We couldn't get Addison to grab any of the cake, we had prepared to clean up a big mess, but she wasn't willing to make one for us to clean up.  I can only hope this continues as she gets older - with her room!  However, Jen and I are looking forward to her 2nd birthday, maybe she'll be a little more willing to make a mess!

Notice anything about the cake?  It took uncle Jay to figure it out through the view finder of his camera.  He was all set to take a picture of Addison's first birthday cake when suddenly he paused, looked up at Jen and said, "what the heck's wrong with Addison's cake?"  Jen asked him what he meant.  Then it dawned on us - it was backwards!  Jen had stayed up the night before and didn't finish Addison's cake until about 11:00 pm.  She said she was tired.  I guess the cake made it obvious!  We had a good laugh.

St. Patrick's Day Pictures.

Trying on her Birthday outfit a couple of days before the big day.  Jen made the Tutu.

Here are some pictures of Addison's first adventure in Minnesota's outdoors!  Jen thinks she's pretty cute!  We took a walk down the railroad tracks, as I'm sure that Addison will someday find this path between her Grandma and Grandpa's place a fun adventure - they live only a mile away.  A 1/2 mile in the other direction she will find her cousins house - so I'm sure that these tracks will become quite familiar to her.  This was her first view of them.

Jen and I are thinking that Addison finds herself quite amusing.  She got us - we sure think she is.

When all else fails, she has her thumbs!
