I forgot to mention some information about the pictures from my last picture post.  Starting from the bottom up with the picture of the Red Door with two posts coming out from above the door and ending with the picture before the tea set - 5 pictures in total.  I would say that the area we visited via richshaw covered about 1 mile by 1 mile square.  We didn't see all of this area, but that what it probably covered.

These pictures are from the local dwelling that we were able to go into and visit with the people whom owned it.  I wrote about this lady on the myadoption site.  They own this residence, although it is rare to do so right in this part of Beijing.  She said her grandpa worker for the Chinese military and was given the opportunity to purchase the property outright after his time was completed with them.  He did so!  She didn't say how much it cost to do so back then, however the 1000 square meters (I believe that she meant to say 100, but it came out 1000, but believe me it wasn't that big) that they own is now worth over 8 million U.S. dollars.  By the picture, you probably aren't able to see the detail in how run down the residence is, but in relation to other residences in the area it was pretty well kept up!  Hopefully you are able to follow that and then find the pictures to which I'm referring - the 8 million dollar figure through me for a loop!  Wow!
